President - Seniors only
- Oversee the responsibilities of all thespian club officers. The president is in charge of making sure officers fulfill their duties completely and efficiently.
- Ensure communications
- Oversee any event the theatre program undertakes during the year. Whether it is a monthly thespian club or officer meeting, a play production, fundraiser, the theatre banquet, parades, the president is required to attend and oversee all such events.
- Coordinate and organize annual trip to Kansas State Thespian Festival (Thesfest) with troupe director.
- Assign specific tasks (which pertains to no particular office) to various thespian club officers in order to guarantee their completion.
- Coordinate and attend with other Thespian Officers annual Activities fair and other school events.
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
- Handle conflict well and be a role model.
- Assist the thespian club sponsor with whatever necessary. While the president is in charge of the club, its director has the final say and is ultimately above all decisions made by the president.
Vice President - Junior only
- Assist the President in a variety of forms. Whether running an errand or being delegated to a large event, the Vice-President should stand by for any action that must be taken. The Vice-President must be active in asking the President what needs to be accomplished.
- Co-produce all events occurring throughout the year. While the President will usually oversee many large events, it is the duty of the Vice-President to double check and make sure nothing falls out of place for which it has already been organized.
- Act in the position of the President. If the President is unable to attend a meeting or event, it is the sole responsibility of the Vice-President to seek out information from the president that should be discussed at a meeting.
- Coordinate and organize annual trip to Kansas State Thespian Festival (Thespival) with troupe director.
- Acts as business manager for troupe director.
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
Secretary/Treasurer - Open to any student
- Ensure parents are contacted and available to sponsor different events, and provide resources for events.
- Send out reminders to club members of monthly meetings, volunteer work, club activities etc..
- Take minutes of each meeting. Report minutes back to troupe director and officers.
- Update monthly calendar on callboard of all upcoming productions, events, meetings etc…
- Update callboard 3-4 times a week.
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
- Organize collection of payment and take orders for all t-shirts/hoodies for productions/club.
- Work with President, Kelly and any parent volunteer on club fundraisers.
- Work with Troupe Director to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
Historian/ Member Liaison - Open to any student
- Organize and keep track of all Thespian Member Points.
- Inform students when they are eligible to join.
- Promote thespian membership.
- Keep an organized file of contact information and records for all thespian club members including paid dues, and meeting attendance.
- Create Honor Book
- Collect pictures/ evidence of participation for Honor book.
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
Social Director/Stucco Representative - Open to any student
- Work to create several troupe events / outings.
- Secure ideas for fundraising opportunities.
- Work with the FAN Club to raise money for the department.
- Help Troupe Director submit fundraising requests.
- Identify and court possible corporate sponsorships.
- Actively involved in ALL Main Stage productions.
Publicity - Open to any student
- Collaborate with Mrs. Kelly to design logos for Thespian Club and production T-shirts, program, posters and lobby marquees.
- Help Promote BVN Theatre events (Maniacs, Mane-Stage Shows, Rep Shows, etc.)
- Distributes production news Campus Newspaper and District Newsletter.
- Collaborate with Webmaster for local advertising opportunities. Ie. Scrolling marquee, announcements, accolades page, newspaper, yearbook…
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage productions.
Webmaster - Open to any student
- Help maintain a positive social media presence (Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Assist Mrs. Kelly with website maintenance
- Help Promote BVN Theatre events (Maniacs, Mane-Stage Shows, Rep Shows, etc.)
- Collaborate with Mrs. Kelly to design logos for Thespian Club and productions
- Actively involved in ALL Mane Stage production
Each April, students interested in running for a Thespian office can submit their application, they will then put them on the ballot. Voting usually occurs around the end of April. The new year's officers are installed at the May Awards Banquet
An officers' retreat is held each August before school starts. This is a time for the new board members to reconnect, plan the year's events, brainstorm new activities and service opportunities and enjoy each other's company. Any theatre student who would like to help with planning the new school year's activities is welcome to join us. More details on this event will be posted on the Facebook page and the event calendar.
